Promotes understanding of the valuable services rendered by podiatrists who devote most of their practice to podiatric orthopedics and primary podiatric medicine;
Endeavors to advance standards of practice and quality of podiatric care;
Works to promote establishment of residencies and to encourage certification in podiatric orthopedics and medicine;
Seeks to standardize nomenclature, teaching methods, and approaches to diagnosis and treatment;
Promotes and encourages publication of research findings; and
Serves as the "educational arm" of the advanced medical and orthopedic aspect of the podiatric profession.
Sustain an environment conducive to the pursuit of excellence in podiatric orthopedics and primary care by education and research;
Augment the productivity, image and stature of its members as they serve their patients, the medical community, and society.
The Board of Directors is elected by the membership. Directors serve three-year terms with a maximum length of service of nine years. The Board of Directors elects Officers from among its number.
